Tenite. A thermoplastic molding material, made from cellulose acetate. Tenite is a plastic of unsurpassed strength and beauty, having a wide variety of uses. Among its characteristics are toughness, strength, uniforum texture, high lustre and resistence to heat. In 1936 the maker of tenite touted the bright future for tenite. As it turned out, tenite was anything but heat resistent. Warping badly when exposed to heat.
